Alex Galchenyuk spent his summer training with strength and conditioning coach Marc Megna in Miami. The former professional football player recently posted an incredible compilation video of the Penguins forward's workouts to his Instagram account.
"So much sacrifice, time and hard work put in by (Galchenyuk) this off-season," Megna wrote. "It's almost time to unleash the new and improved version to the world. He's without a doubt one of the hardest workers I've had the pleasure of working with." In the post, Galchenyuk does a variety of exercsises, including explosive banded jump squats, one-armed side cross-over sled pulls, kettlebell step ups, ball slams, push-up taps and more.
Galchenyuk has been vocal about how excited he is to come to Pittsburgh after the Penguins acquired him from the Arizona Coyotes for Phil Kessel on June 29. "I'm definitely looking forward to this new step in my life and I feel ready for it physically and mentally," he said. And if the video is any indication, he certainly looks more ready than ever.
